Prof. Siegfried R. Waldvogel Received Prestigious Wöhler Award for Sustainable Chemistry

Professor Siegfried R. Waldvogel, Director at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Energy Conversion, has been awarded the prestigious Wöhler-Award for Sustainable Chemistry. This award recognizes his outstanding and forward-thinking achievements in the field of electrosynthesis, enabling the environmentally friendly and economically viable production of organic compounds.

With over 25 years of experience, Professor Waldvogel has significantly shaped the field of electrosynthesis, developing holistic technological approaches that span from academic research to industrial application. His dedication has been instrumental in driving the sustainable transformation of synthesis processes. In many examples, the control by solvent and cations in electrosynthesis were keys for success allowing novel avenues to translate this technology onto technically relevant and cutting edge applications.

The award was presented to him on September 29th at the GDCh Science Forum Chemistry (SFC).
